Can You Really Build Up A Tolerance to Weed? Yes, And It Could Be A Good Thing
What is cannabis tolerance?
Cannabis tolerance refers to the need to consume higher doses of cannabis over time to achieve the same effects or "high" as when you first started using it. This happens because the brain adapts to the presence of cannabis compounds like THC.
How does cannabis tolerance develop in the brain?
Cannabis tolerance develops through a process called "downregulation" where the brain reduces the number of cannabinoid receptors (CB1) in response to overstimulation from THC. With fewer receptors, more THC is needed to achieve the same effect.
How can you reset your cannabis tolerance?
To reset or lower your tolerance, you need to take an extended break from using cannabis (around 4 weeks or more). During this time, the brain can restore its normal number of CB1 receptors, allowing you to get stronger effects from lower doses again after the tolerance break.

This Restored Craig Ellwood House
The article discusses the Craig Ellwood-designed Kubly House in Pasadena, California, an exquisite example of the architect's breezy and minimalist interpretation of the International Style that has recently hit the market for $4.25 million. Completed in 1965 for patrons connected to the Art Center College of Design, the 2,200 square foot pavilion-like home showcases Ellwood's signature use of redwood that gives it an organic atmosphere despite its modern aesthetic. With glass walls, a wood frame, fine details like slender mullions, and a floating entry stair, the symmetrical interior represents the challenge of preserving Ellwood's innovative but high-maintenance designs that critic Paul Davies said "lasted as long as their owners' fashion sense." As an iconic work by one of the most famous mid-century modern architects known for his celebrated Case Study houses, the immaculately preserved Kubly House stands out as a pioneering residential architecture that seamlessly blended indoor-outdoor living with minimalist design principles.
