#CoolShit 04.22.20
Happy Wednesday to you and yours!
SPOILER ALERT: This morning was a pretty slow morning in “cool internet things that I should share with my friends,” which happens from time to time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Quality over quantity! (says the guy who inundates your inbox with endless amounts of shit every single day 😬)
See you tomorrow!

Understanding “Contact Tracing”

There’s no doubt that you’ve probably heard the word “contact tracing” in the past weeks. I love how this diagram breaks down how a technology like this COULD be deployed.
You know it’s a BIG deal when both Apple & Google have promised to work together to implement this technology as quick as they can.
Would this type of technology be invasive, yes. Would this type of technology help us prevent the spread of this(and any future) virus, and ultimately get our lives back to normal, yup!
I’m a tech-optimist, so you already know that I’m ALL IN on something like this.
This is also qualifies for “what I listened to while curating this email this morning”
Henry Rollins “The Cool Quarantine (002)”

If you’re looking a mix weird, odd, raw-sounding, but ultimately cool music & stories, let Mr. Rollins possess your ears for the next 3+ hours.
This time around, we have a great mix of single songs from Le Butcherettes and Tenor Saw, albums by The Fall, EPs from Rain and others, live tracks and stories from the last century. Kinda like last time.
Since it’s a slow day, let’s try something new…
Let’s skip the formal “Share or forward this email to a friend” thing this morning.
If you have any friends or family that you think would enjoy this email add them directly to the distro list by adding their emails here:
If they don’t like it, they can always unsub, but I have a good feeling that they’ll dig it 😬
And here’s the standard ways you can help me if you’re enjoying this email:
❤️ “Like” this email - It’s a simple click for you that helps me a lot.

This helpful breakdown of “distraction”
The opposite of distraction is not focus. The opposite of distraction is [literally] traction
I’ve never heard it put that way 🤯
Did you see it? Be honest!

HINT: This is not some weird trick here - trust me I had to cheat to make sure. There is a GLARING mistake. I missed it, and I read the sentence MANY MANY times 🤯.
