What I listened to this morning:
Laid back by Jazzcat

If you need a mellow instrumental/jazzy mix, here ya go.
America’s renewable energy sources have produced more electricity than coal every day for 40 straight days

The move away from coal for electricity generation in the U.S. accelerated in 2020 due to lower gas prices, warmer weather and a "significant amount" of new renewable capacity being connected to the grid late last year, the report suggested.
Shitty times and all, the future is bright indeed.
This new Banksy
Which now hangs in at Southampton General Hospital (via: BBC)
The artist left a note for hospital workers, which read: "Thanks for all you're doing. I hope this brightens the place up a bit, even if its only black and white."
Harry Potter reading Harry Potter
Shoutout to Shannon V. for the find!

Daniel will be the first of many exciting contributors to help us read through the first Harry Potter book, as he introduces the Dursleys, who don’t like anything mysterious. Enter a cat reading a map, owl-filled skies and whispers about the Potters. So, get comfy and enjoy!
Boy did love reading this series. I love how JK Rowling could completely immerse you into her vibrant & imaginative world. If you haven’t already, read the series - it’s worthy of the hype.
Easy-E & Betty White (ft. Dr. Dre)

2 different definitions of cool.
Sports is back-ish

NASCAR: Cars are scheduled to return to the track at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina on Sunday, May 17.
Horse racing: Churchill Downs will open May 16 for spectator-less racing.
Confession, I REALLY REALLY MISS SPORTS. We’ll see how these crowd-less events look like, but I’m not very optimistic 😔 BUT, we shall see…
What does the marketing funnel look like post-pandemic?
With shifts in consumer behavior, purchasing and content consumption habits, there is no way to effectively navigate through the marketing funnel right now. Brands and advertisers are forced to pivot their strategies and focus on addressing existing communities, and offer help and convenience to their consumers.
Here are a few things brands and advertisers should consider as we enter a world that doesn't favor the traditional marketing funnel.
Over 80% of consumers in the U.S. and U.K. are consuming more content since the outbreak began, according to recent research from Global Web Index.
52% of Americans are cutting their spending due to concerns around the economy, per a Bankrate study.
a recent survey from RetailMeNot found 74% of respondents ages 22 to 37 claim more brands should take public stances on important social values.
A Criteo report found that 73% of U.S. consumers are open to considering a new brand in at least one shopping category
77% said they retract their brand loyalty fasterthan they did three years ago, and 61% have switched brands within the last year.
Organizations must shift from standard audience pursuit to a more mission-based strategy.
This was one of those articles that was SO GOOD, I didn’t want to share it BUT… I like you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
“Black Mirror” creator: world too stressed out for new episodes

“At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on one of those,” Brooker told Radio Times. “I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh.”
I completely agree.
If you haven’t watched any of it yet, it’s on Netflix and it’s spectacular. Well it’s spectacular if you like to see terrifying visions (and some not so terrifying) of what the future could look like. 100% recommend… but maybe wait till we’re back to “normal” before you dive in 😬
Speaking of dystopian futures…
I want this robot dog

Won’t chew on furniture. Don’t have to pick up doo doo. Can literally turn it off when tired. It also MIGHT kill me and my family and my neighborhood, and all humanity BUT, it would be SO COOL to have a robo-dog!
Steve McQueen’s Custom 1952 Chevy Pickup Truck / Camper

As the story goes, McQueen bought this 1952 Chevy 3800 Pickup Truck from a migrant farmer in the late 70s with the original 235 cubic inch Loadmaster 6-cylinder engine and 4-speed manual tranny–along with having a rear outfitted with a sheet metal barn that could be used as a camper thanks to the double bed, storage cabinets, drawers and shelves. The infamous actor would go on to use it for countless camping trips, along with reportedly driving it from his LA home to the Ventura airport in November of 1980–with Billy Graham sitting shotgun, no less–prior to his death only a few days later.
Everything about this is cool.
This Terraplanter

Just fill with water and the plant will take only what it needs to visibly grow & flourish on the exterior surface of the planter.
Due to being trapped at home, and uncertain of ANYTHING these days, I’m all for anything in the “sustainability” category.
They’re goal was $20,000, they’ve raised $589,332, I think lots of us are trying to get on the “sustainability” train
