#CoolShit 06.01.20
Monday.
All weekend I thought about today’s email.
I’m sure this weekend you were like me in trying to stay informed by going online - which ultimately makes you sad. Or staying offline, avoiding it all - which makes you feel uninformed.
I decided that for today’s email, I’m going to do what I normally do, show you the internet through my lens. Only now that lens is looking at a world that is on fire, with a black eye and a surgical mask.
Even in all the shit, there was plenty of good that should be shared.
See you tomorrow.

Ways you can help
This isn’t just a fight for black people.

It’s not just for America.

London, England

Berlin, Germany

Copenhagen, Denmark

Milan, Italy

Auckland, New Zealand

Toronto, Canada

~Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, from his LA Times Op-Ed “Don’t understand the protests? What you’re seeing is people pushed to the edge”
There were people protecting who they were protesting against.

There were cops who are tired of the shit as well.

“I’ve got a son who’s 15 and I have to have these conversations all the time”
There were lots of people trying to stop the chaos.

There were lots of peaceful protests.

Some danced in the streets.
The police joined in on marches.

All the while, we’re in the middle of a global pandemic.

There was an abundance of help for those who need it.

And when it was done, they came together to clean up the mess.
