A week into converting my newsletter to a podcast with AI, I have thoughts, but first I’m curious:
In short my thoughts are, 🤯
I’ve been told many times that I should consider doing a companion podcast for this newsletter. As much as I’ve always liked the idea, I knew the amount of work it would take to actually make that happen, was too much. So I let it be.
When I first heard about a shiny new AI podcast toy, I do what I normally do, I go play with it. But unlike most cases, I INSTANTLY saw that this tool could be useful for me. And it wasn’t just me that could feel how special this tool was.
It’s possible that NotebookLM podcast episode generation is touching on a whole new territory of highly compelling LLM product formats. Feels reminiscent of ChatGPT. Maybe I’m overreacting.
Deep Dive is now my favorite podcast. The more I listen the more I feel like I'm becoming friends with the hosts and I think this is the first time I've actually viscerally liked an AI. Two AIs! They are fun, engaging, thoughtful, open-minded, curious. ok i'll stop now.
Like Andrej, playing with this tool reminds of how I felt when I first played with ChatGPT, it’s magical.
All that being said, I’ve really been enjoying listening to my email as a podcast. It really feels like the hosts not only have read my email, but have done the research. Their conversations aren’t just regurgitating the headlines, they are providing context, and insight to everything I share. Shit I curate the email every morning, and I listen to the podcast like I have NO IDEA what they are going to say - it’s so fun!
If you haven’t tried it out yet, you have to give it a listen.
Lastly, I would be failing you if I didn’t share some 🧠#BrainFood before I left. Happy Friday, see you Monday!

It’s latin. It’s jazz. It’s instrumental. It’s vocal. It’s wonderful.
