NCAA cancels tournament… President Trumps speech… Tom Hanks… A suspended NBA season…
I know I know, there is currently a LOT of not #CoolShit going on at this moment and honestly, it would feel a bit strange to carry on like there’s not a disease… er... pandemic that is effecting the entire earths population. So rather than me sending you my normal daily collection of #CoolShit, or be all doom & gloom-y, I had an other idea...
Since this damn coronavirus is going to keep us all on temporary house arrest(if it hasn’t already) I thought it’d be helpful for us to collectively create a list of cool things to watch, read, or listen to while on lockdown. Ideally, this thread becomes a place you can keep coming back to when you get bored? Sound like a plan?
I’ll go first!
P.S. clicking the little heart helped me IMMENSELY yesterday, so if you’d please be so kind once again 🙏🏻
I can’t like this show any more than I do. They’re stand-alone episodes, so they’re easy to watch. Some are scary cause they’re sci-fi that feels too real(Season 3, Episode 1). Some are beautiful visions of the future(Season 3, Episode 4). And some are just complete mind-fucks(Season 2, Episode 2). The whole series is BRILLIANT!
I’ll just get straight to it, this documentary uncovers(or at least makes a VERY compelling case) who REALLY shot Malcolm X. You’ll learn why Malcolm was SO loved, but also some unlikely reasons as to why he was hated.
Watch Good Omens on Amazon Prime!! It's based on the book by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, but as if that wasn't already good enough, David Tennant and Michael Sheen play the leads!
Watch Wu Tang on Hulu....1st season was crazy and each ep is an hour long ! They really take their time to break down each member and the history. Plus the soundtrack..come on!
Listen to ‘Best Coast - Always Tomorrow’ (Spotify or Apple Music)
If you want to feel happier, listen to Best Coast. Their music sounds like summer feels. You can’t listen to their music and not want to be sitting poolside taking a nap while baking in the sun.
I created this playlist to highlight the genius of Nipsey. On the surface his music sounds like “gangsta rap” but listen, really LISTEN to what he’s saying and you’ll hear a determined entrepreneur, vibrant story teller, and most important, a champion for the people in his community.
From “Blue Laces 2”
Dropped out of school, I'ma teach myself
Made my first mil' on my own, I don't need your help
All black Tom Ford, it's a special evening
City council meeting, they got Hussle speaking
Billion dollar project 'bout to crack the cement
So one of our investments had become strategic
Summer roll '18, man it's such a season
'Bout to make my partners look like fuckin' geniuses
Ozark is “Breaking Bad” but better - fight me! Jason Bateman is stellar. When I first started watching it I thought that there was NO WAY I’d be able to watch him and not see Michael Bluth (Arrested Development), I was wrong. But as good as he is in the show, Laura Linney is even better. There’s currently 2 seasons, but the 3rd drops later this month.
Another recommendation, if I may be a little sneaky 🙃. My blog has some pretty great short stories if I may say so myself! (Please feel free to remove this, Shelby, if you so please).
Watch ‘Black Mirror’ on Netflix

Watch now, thank me later.
Adding it to the queue!
Counterpart on Prime Video is incredible. It has to be one of the most slept on series of the past decade
